Got a new camera this week, been studying it and playing with it and I hope to do great things with it.

iHeartFaces....week 8 "hands-on fun"

They're focusing on hands this week at i♥faces!

We had an old western shoot-out after church a couple weeks ago. This is one of the shots I took. I love hand shots.

“The miracles of nature do not seem miracles because they are so common. If no one had ever seen a flower, even a dandelion would be the most startling event in the world.”

the undertaker

His real name is Dale, but he's known by many (former Texas Ranger pals) as "the undertaker". What character he has, he's one of the sweetest guys I know.

Sunday Citar

Time for a cup of coffee (or tea if you prefer) and some wonderful quotes. It's Sunday Citar time, brought to us by Tabitha of the Fresh Mommy blog.

"Adopt the pace of nature: her secret is patience."
~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

I always watch the sky at sunset...even if I'm inside, when I know the sun is going down, I have to see if there is something wonderful to capture. Every once in a while, when the clouds are just right and the sun is in the perfect spot, I get something spectacular. Lovely.

rodeo fairgrounds

I try to take the kids out to the rodeo every year on their "dollar day", it costs a dollar to get in the gate, a dollar for each ride, etc...they have a blast - and there are many educational exhibits out there, so we call it a field trip and don't do any worksheets for the day.

We got a pretty decent parking spot this year across the street. THAT was not a dollar, and just after I took this photo, a guy came and told me to keep the kids off the grass, but I love this shot.
