when I can't sleep

I go outside and take pictures of the moon. Okay, normally I don't. But I did tonight. First time I've tried and I think it turned out pretty good. I don't have a remote shutter release, so I ad-libbed and used the timer release on the camera. It worked!!!

That's great!! I can never get my moon pictures to turn out. Do you have a telephoto lens?

Yep, a 300mm telephoto and I had to use a tri-pod. The trick is to put the camera on FULL MANUAL, and set the f-stop and aperture at the right setting. I think I had something set wrong though, because it looks a little dark. I may try again tonight. The farmers almanac says the full moon is on the 13th, so this one is not quite full.

good job, Beckey. I love photographing the moon.

I normally use shutter priority mode, slow it down but not as much as when photographing man made lights.
